As generative AI tools become more integrated into higher education, traditional approaches to assessment need to evolve. This interactive workshop draws on the work of José Antonio Bowen and C. Edward Watson to explore how rubrics can be redesigned to promote deeper learning, creativity, and academic integrity in the AI era. Participants will examine examples of rubrics that have been re-designed in response to the proliferation of AI in university classrooms, discuss strategies rubric redesigns, and will leave with practical tools to adapt their own assessments and rubrics. This workshop session is designed to be delivered in a face-to-face format; however, we understand that you might need to attend remotely for a variety of reasons.
